The American Dream isn't dead. We just have couple generations of our own who have been lied to as to what it is and how it works.
I am not sure which as had the worst effect. It could be the educational system that is more concerned about people feeling good about themselves more than giving them actual skills to feel good about or the marketing and financial systems that have lied and told them that they can borrow their way to wealth. Of course we also have the government lying and telling them that they will take care of them and give them whatever they want if only they keep them in power.
Of course we have a whole new batch of people scrambling to get here and take advantage of the actual opportunities and will be the next to live the American Dream.
2025 is going to be interesting. The re-election of the Donald, the ousting of The Justin, The collapse of labour in the UK and the rise of Farage. I don't think it will fix very much in the short term. The problems created took decades to bring us to this point, and will take even longer to reverse.
At least we may get a whiff of fresh air as the pendulum swings back?
