Investigative journalist Trish Wood joins Collapse Life to expose the propaganda, power plays, and performative democracy turning our northern neighbor into a globalist cesspool.
Wow. I am following you because I want to understand more about my Northern neighbor.
Thanks for this interview.
I have a recommendation: please provide a transcript to facilitate more rapid digestion of important points. There are free AI based transcript generators.
I would gladly pay to subscribe, as well, but I am already paying a couple hundred USD/mo, and I cannot afford another large subscription, equivalent to a newspaper.
We understand that a regular subscription is beyond reach for many readers, so that's exactly why we keep most of our content outside a paywall and accessible to all who are interested. If there is ever a time when something IS behind a paywall and you (or any of our readers, frankly) cannot access it, please write to us directly at info@collapselife.com - yes, we are trying to build a publishing business, but getting important information into people's hands that might help them (or their family) is worth far more than any dollars and cents.
For what it's worth, one way readers can support us on their own terms is through our Buy Me a Coffee page: https://buymeacoffee.com/collapselife. BUT -- absolutely no obligation. If you like an article or video and want to express that somehow, any and all support is truly appreciated whether through Buy Me a Coffee or simply by sharing our content far and wide.
Please know how grateful we are to you, and all our subscribers, for the incredible support and loyalty.
I finally finished watching that fantastic interview! Wow. Like my almost-love affair with Germany and Britain, I have always admired and enjoyed Canada, but watched in horror as things devolved. This was particularly saddening.
Two questions:
1. Poilievre was on the way to rescuing Canada during the time pre-Trump with Trump’s 51st State jabs. (By the way, I am positive he was poking Trudeau with that comment—Trudeau, who, from Trump’s body language—he despised. Unfortunately, Trump publicized and this politicized his jab. And horrified Americans AND Canadians, if truth be told. 😉 Maybe Trudeau had manipulated Trump into such a reaction, as Trudeau apparently had a well-developed plan on how to maintain control over Canada.) Poilievre’s name was remarkably absent as an answer to your question “what ever happened to the people who believed in the truckers’ convoy.” Why isn’t Poilievre a consideration?
2. I saw how you had moved from Canada. We here in Florida have a Canadian who immigrated here and is now a mainstay in the Republican Party. Would that be y’all? (Altho, I suspect you should be reluctant to answer this question for privacy reasons. 😉)
I do think some people in Canada will remember that Poilievre expressed support for the peaceful protestors and for those who chose not to vaccinate though some will have forgotten that by now.
But more importantly, as Trish noted so clearly, there's an impulse in Canada to be very compliant and buy in to what the media is selling. So when the media paint Poilievre as bigoted and hateful, many blindly agree and will therefore not cast a vote in his favor.
No, we looked at Florida but opted against it. We are in rural Texas for the time being.
Many (/most?) of my substacks have a prominent link. I prefer this, as I turn off emails, and use substack as my daily reading “newspaper”. Emails are 95% junk I have to cull, laboriously.
That was very illuminating and sadly I have to agree with the sad state of affairs in Canada. I think it's hard for someone like Trish to forgive and forget because the cruelty personally affected her and so many others. The crazy mass formation is real, the media is propaganda, the people are mostly oblivious to the totalitarianism waiting to engulf them.
But the issue with Alberta is the line in the sand. Some of us have a rebel soul and aren't ready to forget the treachery. If we are pushed too far we will leave, and we will be the alternative.
We know you have been personally affected too but you've held the line and stayed true to your principles, while gently trying to inform others. So grateful for you both!
Trish you absolutely “nailed it”! As a Canadian who has been awake from the beginning and documented and read and researched I completely concur with your analogy. Canadians are full of fear and our nature is to be obedient and steadfast and to believe in “government” - this will be our downfall.
A fabulous video. Trish Wood is that rarity, a reasonable person willing to hear both sides of an argument, something I sometimes struggle with when talking about current events with leftist friends or relatives. I hope others enjoy this as much as I did.
I know from my perspective it is difficult for me now due to the treatment I have received from the people on the Left since 2016. The majority I know were vicious, nasty and not at all willing to hear a divergent viewpoint. That behaviour hardened my attitude towards them dramatically.
It's definitely not worth the effort to try to engage one and all. There have been a few opportunities to have some reasoned conversations and actually engage on ideas, and those are the ones that give us some hope. But you're right that on the whole these are conversations best avoided.
I'm a Canadian citizen living in the U.S. for over 30 years. I visit B.C. multiple times a year to see family. Observing what's happening in Canada is bewildering and painful. I came across Trish's substack a couple years ago, it has helped me to understand what is happening and to feel less alone going through this craziness. Thank you for another good interview, Zahara. I appreciate both of you women very much and all the other freedom thinkers out there.
What a wonderful interview thank you for that

Thanks for the suggestion @news do!
I have added a download link to the transcript at the bottom of the story and hope it helps. You should also be able to get to it directly from here: https://www.collapselife.com/api/v1/file/5566219c-942f-4ae6-8051-d6204675f2e1.pdf

I’ll buy you a regular coffee. 😁

Thanks so much for the caffeine contributions! Much appreciated! And not necessary. We are grateful for engaged readers like you.

Another by the way, maybe add a “Buy me a coffee” link in your posts?
Thanks again!
Another good suggestion. It's in the footer of all our emails, but not in posts that appear on the Substack platform. I'll rethink how we do it.

Totally agree. Isn’t it sad how rare a quality this is today?

It is so painful to watch. I don't see us returning back even for a visit. At least not for a while.
I have an elderly mother in assisted living and I'm the only surviving child, so I go. When she passes I won't go much until things change.
Understandable and a difficult situation to navigate, for sure. I hope the path remains open for you to go as needed for as long as is necessary.
Thank you
“Performative Democracy” of Canada. Trish nailed it.
Right?
You may want to check out the media scrum meltdown underway as we speak. During the debate.
We did see a portion of it — so pathetic. Trish wrote about it on her Substack too!
Rebel News may be playing a part in this "media false flag". Just a hunch.
